Village of Greenwich Partners with Community Veterans & Citizens to Display Old Glory

A Perfect Tri-Fecta for American Pride!

Local Government partners with Veterans & Citizens to display "Old Glory" from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.

One person can make a difference!

Marie Troy is that person in the Village of Greenwich in Upstate New York.

Her mission was to bring back that sense of patriotic pride she experienced all her life, until factories closed sending the manufacturing workforce away from Greenwich, located across the Hudson River from Saratoga Battlefield and numerous other historic sites from The American Revolution.

Marie was born and raised, and is a lifelong resident of Washington County.  Together with her husband, David Troy, they established a plan to line the main streets in The Village with American-made USA Flags from Saratoga Flag Company.

The Troys raised all the funds from neighbors and local businesses, to purchase 78 flags, flagpoles and hardware.

Then partnered with U.S. Veteran Mike Savage, VFW Post 7291, Middle Falls Fire Department and local government officials to manage the finances, obtain the approvals, and install all the U.S. flags annually, rain or shine, in time for Memorial Day.

To ensure each American flag stays well maintained, David Troy takes daily walks, inspecting each flag along the route, making any adjustments needed.    The American Flag display continues for 6 months, until they are retired in the Fall, just after Veterans Day.

We applaud the Troy's for their dedication to keep The Stars and Stripes flying proudly. They are an inspiration for every American.

If you are passionate about patriotism and your Town is not displaying The American Flag, please consider becoming a role model and set the example for your neighbors.  Then look to other community leaders and businesses for assistance.

Saratoga Flag Company is ready to provide your Town, Village or City with the best quality American-made USA flags to line your streets annually.
