Many Democrats had a busy Fourth of July weekend denouncing and
flipping off America, and its primary symbol, our flag. On the other
hand, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik stood up for the Stars and Stripes.
The New York Republican introduced a bill that would require the U.S. government to purchase and display only American flags that are entirely made in the United States.
“The American flag is an enduring symbol that represents the freedoms we enjoy as Americans and a way to show our patriotism,” Stefanik said in a press release outlining her Make American Flags in America Act of 2022.
